College Transfer Student

Each year, there are a limited number of spaces in year 1 available for students wishing to transfer from Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) or equivalents in other provinces and countries.
 
For students who have completed or are in the process of completing 2, 3, or 4 years of a diploma or associate degree from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent, applications for year 1 transfer consideration are processed by the Ontario Universities Application Centre.

Minimum requirements for consideration for admission into either Year 1:

  • mid- to high-80s (A average) overall cumulative college average   
  • minimum 75% in an advanced English course (senior high school or college level)
  • completion of 2, 3, or 4 years of a college diploma or associate degree with a major or specialization in accounting
  • Admission Information Form (AIF)
  • Writing of the Accounting and Financial Management Admissions Assignment (AFMAA).

Transfer students applying to Year 1 may be considered for the Business and Finance co-op experience category.

For admission consideration, all applicants must submit the following documentation to the Registrar’s Office no later than March 9th:

  • Secondary school transcripts
  • Post-secondary school transcripts
  • Other documentation required by the Registrar’s Office (e.g. TOEFL scores, immigration standing, etc.)
  • Admission Information Form (AIF)

Transfer Credits:

Transfer credits for college courses completed will be determined at the time of admission. Generally, students admitted to year 1 will not have previously completed courses accredited towards their BAFM degree.

AFM
The School of Accounting and Finance is the only English speaking professional school of its kind in Canada. We offer 2 undergraduate (Accounting and Financial Management and Computing and Financial Management) and 3 graduate (Master of Accounting; Master of Taxation; PhD in Accounting) programs to provide students with the technical, analytical, evaluative, and communication skills needed to prepare for successful careers in public accounting, finance, industry, government and not-for-profit sectors. In conjunction with the Faculties of Mathematics and Science, the School also administers 2 undergraduate programs (Mathematics/Chartered Accountancy; Biotechnology/Chartered Accountancy) and 1 graduate program (Master of Quantitative Finance).
