University Transfer Student

Each year, there are a limited number of spaces in year one and two available for students wishing to transfer from other universities and other programs at the University of Waterloo.

For students who are currently studying at a university other than the University of Waterloo, applications for 1st year transfer consideration are processed by the Ontario Universities Application Centre.

For students who are currently studying at the University of Waterloo in a program other than AFM, a Plan Modification/Application for Internal Transfer Form (available on the Registrar's Office website) must be submitted, along with the completed Admission Information Form (AIF) to the Registrar’s Office by February 10, 2012.

All transfer students applying to Year 1 may be considered for the Business and Finance co-op experience caegory.

Transfer applicants from universities other than uWaterloo:

For admission consideration, all applicants must submit the following documentation to the Registrar’s Office no later than March 7th:

  • Secondary school transcripts
  • Post-secondary school transcripts
  • Other documentation required by the Registrar’s Office (e.g. TOEFL scores, immigration status, etc.)
  • Admission Information Form (AIF)

Transfer applicants from uWaterloo:

For admission consideration, all applicants must submit the following documentation to the Registrar’s Office no later than February 10th:

Transfer credits:

Transfer credits for university courses completed will be determined at the time of admission. Generally, students admitted to Year 1 will not have previously completed courses accredited towards their BAFM degree.

AFM
The School of Accounting and Finance is the only English speaking professional school of its kind in Canada. We offer 2 undergraduate (Accounting and Financial Management and Computing and Financial Management) and 3 graduate (Master of Accounting; Master of Taxation; PhD in Accounting) programs to provide students with the technical, analytical, evaluative, and communication skills needed to prepare for successful careers in public accounting, finance, industry, government and not-for-profit sectors. In conjunction with the Faculties of Mathematics and Science, the School also administers 2 undergraduate programs (Mathematics/Chartered Accountancy; Biotechnology/Chartered Accountancy) and 1 graduate program (Master of Quantitative Finance).
