A native of the Kitchener-Waterloo area, Andy Bauer is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s School of Accountancy - BA in 2002 and MAcc 2003. Andy passed the UFE in 2003 and obtained his CA in 2005. From 2003-2006 Andy was employed by Ernst & Young in Kitchener and in the fall of 2006 he returned to UW to begin doctoral studies.
During his final year at UW, Andy was involved in developing the School of Accountancy’s Alumni Pledge program. He is also an active member of the organizing group for the Timmy Rose Memorial Golf Tournament.
Andy is an accomplished rugby player. During his undergrad at UW, he was a member of the Warriors Men’s rugby team. He is a four-time OUA academic all-star, two-time OUA all-star, and the 2002 OUA Most Valuable Player. Since graduating, Andy has continued his rugby career, playing locally for club team Waterloo County and for the Niagara Thunder, one of 14 teams in the Rugby Canada Super League (RCSL). Andy is also very involved in developing and coaching the game of rugby. He coached boys and girls high school rugby for seven years, and has been an assistant coach with the UW women’s rugby program.
