Carrie Boutcher

Carrie Boutcher, MAcc, CA

Carrie Boutcher was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario. She earned her BA (Co-op Accounting) from the University of Waterloo and earned her Masters of Accounting in 1992. Carrie spent three of her co-op placements at Powell Jones, a small public accounting firm in Barrie. For the remaining co-op terms, she worked for Coopers & Lybrand in Kitchener. After graduating, she continued to work for Coopers & Lybrand in their Audit department.


Carrie earned her CA designation in 1992 and began working for Howden Fan in Cambridge in 1995 as their Controller. She was also married that year and she and her husband settled in Waterloo.


In 1996, Carrie moved to Linamar Corporation, a publicly traded company, and became their Senior Corporate Accountant. In 1998, she assumed the role of Corporate Accounting Manager, and in 2002, of Director, Corporate Finance. In this role, she was responsible for all financial consolidations, internal and external reporting, tax planning, internal controls, and other controllership functions. The year 2006 brought about a career change, and Carrie moved to Armtec Infrastructure Income Fund as Vice Finance, Finance and most recently as Interim Chief Financial Officer.

Carrie also assisted with the WATcase competitions in the School of Accountancy in 2003, 2004 and 2007.

Carrie and her husband have two children – Sarah and Eric. Her interests include travel, camping, outdoor family activities - including time with the family pony Squirt and dog Duggan - reading, and spending time with her family.
