Alexandra Hardy, MAcc, CA

Alexandra Hardy is a Senior Manager in A&A with BDO Dunwoody LLP, Kitchener providing business advisory services to owner-managed businesses in a variety of industries, as well as some not-for-profit entities.

Alex began her career in Accounting as a graduate of the University of Leeds, England. She attended the University of Waterloo as an exchange student during her undergraduate program. Based on her experiences during that time she decided to return and obtain her Masters of Accounting. She worked as a co-op student at Ernst & Young LLP, Kitchener, obtained her CA in 2001 and joined BDO in 2002. She was promoted to Manager three months later and became a Senior Manager in 2005.

She has been involved in recruiting at the University of Waterloo, has participated as a judge in WATCase (a case study prepared as part of the undergraduate program) for several years, judged case presentations at the 1st Accounting Conference held this year by students in the School of Accounting and Finance, as well as guest lecturing to Masters of Accounting students.

She is actively involved in the local community as President of the Child Witness Centre, a charity providing support services and impartial court preparation for child witnesses in Waterloo Region and Wellington County.

Alex lives in Kitchener with her husband Chris and two children, Samuel and Charlotte.
