Betty Ann Jarrett, MAcc, CA

Betty Ann graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1986 with a Master of Accounting, and a Bachelor of Arts, Honours Chartered Accountancy Studies and a minor in Mathematics. She won the Governor General's Gold Medal for achieving the top mark in Canada on the 1986 Uniform Final Examination. She became a Chartered Accountant in 1987.

Betty Ann worked in the audit department of Price Waterhouse until 1988 when she joined the CICA Board of Examiners to work on the Uniform Final Examination. She returned to Price Waterhouse in 1989 and started her career in tax at that time. She was admitted to partnership at Price Waterhouse in 1996 and since that time has been involved in a number of different roles.

In her client service role, Betty Ann specializes in the area of corporate tax consulting services primarily for clients in the Consumer and Industrial Products industry. She provides tax services to large and medium-sized multinational corporations.

Betty Ann has been involved in various roles in Human Resources and Learning & Education for the PricewaterhouseCoopers tax practice, including being the National Tax Partner in charge of Human Capital for the tax practice from 2001 - 2005. She is now the leader of PwC’s Tax Management and Accounting Services practice and is also a member of PwC’s Tax Leadership Group..

Betty Ann is married to Brian Jarrett, who is also a Chartered Accountant. They have two children, Kaitlyn and Kevin. Betty Ann enjoys travelling, baking, shopping, reading, swimming and playing tennis and spends much of her time being a "basketball mom". 2005 Fellow: Amy Yen-Mei Chan
