Chuck Ormrod

Chuck Ormrod, BMath, CA

Chuck entered the Math Co-op program as a Descartes scholar in 1977. He graduated in 1982, having served as a Don in both Village 1 and what is now Ron Eydt Village.  His fondest memories are of captaining the Math floor hockey team to a championship over the Old Timers, and then playing for that team until 1990.

Subsequent to graduation, Chuck met his wife , Lore, then a Math Co-op CA student. Chuck and Lore live in Gormley with their four boys [one is attending the university of Waterloo in Pure Math]. All the boys have been partially educated in France through the CEEF Exchange Program. The family travels extensively in Europe and North America and has recently returned from two sojourns of volunteering at an African orphanage.

Chuck obtained his CA designation in 1983 and became a tax partner in KPMG in 1991. Chuck delivers corporate taxes services to Canadian private and public companies with diverse tax issues stemming from corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, financings, restructurings and international tax.  He has authored numerous papers and articles and is a frequent speaker on taxation issues relating to the Internet, having addressed the Canadian Tax Foundation's National Conference,  the World Tax Conference, the International Fiscal Association, the Osgoode Law School Continuing Education Program, and the European Bankers Conference.
