Doug McPhie

Doug McPhie, CISA, CPA, FCA

Doug graduated from Waterloo in 1978, earned his CA designation in 1981, CISA in 1986, CPA in 2002 and FCA in 2003.

Doug joined Ernst & Young in 1978 in the audit practice and was promoted to partner in 1989. He has held a variety of management positions at Ernst & Young including leading the Canadian Firm's Information Systems Security and Control practice the National Education practice, and represented the Canadian Firm on a variety of Ernst & Young International committees. Doug is currently the People Leader for the Ernst & Young Financial Services practice and also provides audit and advisory services to life insurance and asset management clients.

Doug has served in volunteer positions with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the AICPA including chair of the CICA's Assurance Services Development Board and chair of the joint CICA/AICPA Task Force on Systems Reliability Assurance Services. Doug has also served on the boards of a variety of Canadian charities over the past twenty years including the Architectural Conservation Society, The London Rotary Foundation, the Children’s Aid Society of Halton, and is currently the President of the Halton Children's Aid Foundation. Doug is also a member of the University of Waterloo's Capital Campaign Committee for the School of Accounting and Finance

Doug is married to Kathleen and they have three children
