Ed Henderson

Ed Henderson, MAcc, CA

Ed Henderson was born in Orillia, Ontario and raised in Innisfil, Ontario. Ed earned his BA, Honours Economics, from the University of Waterloo in 1986. He spent his co-op work terms at A.F. MacLaren, a small accounting firm in Barrie before graduating and working with Thorne Riddell in downtown Toronto. He worked with many different clients from the Globe and Mail newspaper to the Toronto Film Festival.

Ed came back to Waterloo in 1989 were he earned his CA designation working with Peat Marwick Thorne in Kitchener. A few years later he moved to assist in growing the audit practice of the newly opened Guelph office.

While in Guelph the founder of Skyjack Inc. called on Ed to join his company in 1994 as Treasurer to assist them in listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Skyjack was recognized as one of the fastest growing companies on the Exchange the next year. Ed took on the additional responsibilities as the Director of Corporate Development and Vice President of Finance. This included a $60 million debt restructuring.

In 2004 Ed joined Snowbear Limited as Chief Financial Officer to assist the company through a receivership and change in ownership. Ed is now Vice President of Finance with MTD Products Limited, the leading manufacturer of lawnmowers and snow blowers found at most Canadian retailers.

Ed has been involved in several charities, including several different roles with the United Way and as Past President of the Canadian Red Cross of Guelph and Wellington. He has also assisted for several years with the WATcase competitions in the School of Accounting and Finance.

Ed has three sons – Eric, Connor and Justin. His interests include golfing and spending time with his sons in their many activities.
