Tim Wilson, MAcc, CA
Tim graduated from the University of Waterloo with Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Arts Degrees in 1999. He was a member of the School of Accounting and Finance's Alumni Honour Roll for Distinguished Academic Accomplishment and placed 20th on the Institute for Chartered Accountants of Ontario's 1999 Uniform Final Exam Honour Roll. Tim worked with Deloitte & Touche's Kitchener office as a co-op student and returned to the firm's audit practice on completion of his studies.
In September 2001, Tim returned to school to pursue a Master of Business Administration at the University of Rochester's William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration where he concentrated his studies on corporate finance and risk management. He graduated in 2003 on the Dean's List and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honour society for academic scholarship and accomplishment in business.
After completing his MBA, Tim returned to the Toronto office of Deloitte & Touche as a member of the firm's Complex Accounting and Transaction Expertise Group. In the CATE group, Tim advised clients on accounting issues in both Canadian and U.S. GAAP with a focus on accounting for financial instruments, hedging activities, and complex consolidation issues. He has spoken at a number of conferences and client seminars on these topics.
Tim recently returned to Deloitte's audit practice where he is a Senior Manager serving clients in the Real Estate and Resources group. He is active in the firm's learning programs and frequently leads training to Deloitte partners and staff on accounting and auditing topics.
Tim is married to Kathleen Quinlan, a graduate fo St. Jerome's Univeristy at the University of Waterloo (BA-2002). They live in Burlington and have two children, Elijah and Maggie.
