Julie Robson, MAcc

Julie is a Continuing Lecturer in the subject of Taxation for the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Waterloo. Julie has also taken on the role of Executive Director of the Master's of Tax Program.

Julie completed her BA and MAcc at the University of Waterloo. From 1994 to 2000, Julie was a Senior Tax Manager with Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP in Waterloo, Ontario. She also worked as a tutor with the CICA In-Depth Tax Course, Parts I and II from 1996-2000.

Julie describes her studies, " My area of interest is international taxation. I am particularly interested in understanding the application of Canadian domestic tax law and treaties to both inbound and outbound transactions. For inbound transactions, I work on the Canadian taxation of, and planning available to, non-residents earning business and property income in Canada. For outbound transactions, I work on issues concerning residents of Canada earning business and property income in foreign countries. The tax treatment of cross-border sales of goods and services and loans is also of interest to me."
