Janice Deganis, BA, CA, CMA, CPA

A University of Waterloo graduate, Janice earned her CMA designation in1991, her CA designation in 1992, and her CPA in 2003.

Janice began working for Ernst & Young in 1990 in small business practice, dealing with entrepreneurial clients and small public companies. She was also married during that year. In 1994, she moved into Ernst & Young’s financial services practice as Large Corporations Manager, where she worked with life insurance, property casualty insurance, mutual funds, segregated funds, small trust companies, and various not-for-profit enterprises.

In1997, Janice was promoted to senior manager with Ernst & Young. In 1998, her first son Michael was born. Janice worked through the demutualization and initial public offering of a large insurance company in 2000, the same year that her second son Jonathon was born. In 2003, she was promoted to partner in Ernst & Young.

Janice is actively involved in teaching courses, including the CLHIA Insurance Course. In her spare time, she enjoys golf, cooking (member of monthly gourmet group), baseball, the symphony, travel, and watching her sons grow.
