Jim Kopperson

Jim Kopperson, MAcc, CA,CPA

Jim Kopperson began his post secondary education on an athletics scholarship at the University of Alabama in 1986 before returning home to complete both his undergraduate and graduate degrees the University of Waterloo. He graduated with a MAcc degree in 1991. To add to his 1992 CA designation, Jim decided to pursue and obtain his CPA designation in 1997.

Jim worked for KPMG for three years as an auditor with KPMG before joining the Office of the Chief Accountant at the Ontario Securities Commission in 1994. In 1997 KMPG called him back to develop its Southwestern Ontario Technology Practice and Jim became partner in charge of the Practice in 1999. During this time, Jim advised software developers, advanced manufacturers, and other knowledge-based businesses on complex accounting transactions, mergers, and acquisitions strategies, private placements, public offerings, and cross-border issues.

The experience in the technology field was a wonderful grounding for Jim’s next challenge. From 2002 into the present, he has been the Chief Financial Officer for RDM Corporation. He enjoys his roll as a senior executive with a publicly traded technology company specializing in digital imaging, transaction processing and electronic payment solutions. Jim has been proud to be part of a company that is leading the transaction revolution in the U.S, payments industry.

Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, Melanie and he is an avid tennis player. He contributes to the University of Waterloo in his roll as an advisory counsel member for the MBET program in Entrepreneurship and Technology. Jim also sits on the Board of Communitech, Kitchener-Waterloo’s technology association.
