Margo Longwell, BMath 1987, CA
Margo graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics degree in 1987, and also obtained her CA designation that year.
Margo began her career in 1983with a small CA firm in Thornhillasa Waterloo co-op student. She then joined the Toronto office of Peat Marwick (apredecessor to KPMG) in 1985. In1990, Margo moved to Ottawa, where she spent 10 years with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. In 2000, Margo returned to Toronto and held the position of Principal, AccountingStandards at the CICA for two years.Margo is currently a Senior Director, Inspections and the Director of Policy, Methodology and Projectsfor the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB), whereshe has been since its inception in 2003. In these roles, Margo heads an inspection team for one of the Big Four auditfirms, and is leading a project to update CPAB's inspection methodology.
Margois married with two children, and isactively involved with their sports programs, includingvolunteering as the manager of a competitive hockey team in the Greater Toronto Hockey League. Sheenjoys running,hiking,travellingandspending time at the family cottage in the Kawarthas.
