Suzanne Patfield

School of Accounting and Finance Fellowship Honourees

Suzanne Patfield, BA, CA

Suzanne was not a typical student in the School of Accountancy at UW; in fact, she was one of the first mature students to enter the program. Suzanne had worked in hospitality management for many years before deciding to return to school to become an accountant. While a student at UW, Suzanne became a teaching assistant and continued this for many years. As a mature student, she was able to take on additional responsibilities and led the distance education version of ACC 131 under the guidance of Professor Grant Russell.

During her undergraduate years, Suzanne spent her co-op work terms at KPMG and, after graduation, continued there on a full-time basis. Suzanne received her designation December 2004.

Suzanne left KPMG January 2007 and is now the Director of Finance and Accounting at St. Jerome’s University, the Roman Catholic university federated with UW.

In her spare time, Suzanne is actively involved with the Girl Guides of Canada where she is a leader for Sparks and Brownies.  As well, Suzanne is a former figure skater who still loves to watch the sport, controversy and all.
