This month's featured alumnus:
Elaine Lee
During her undergraduate years, Elaine served as Social Director and VP of Arts on the Accounting Students Association (ASA) and as Treasurer on the Arts Students’ Union (ASU). In such positions, she organized the first-ever ASA Charity Talent show, successfully argued for increased funding for the ASA, and helped tidy up the “books” for the ASU. Concurrently, Elaine also acted as an on-campus CMA Student Ambassador helping UW Accounting liaise with CMA Ontario to coordinate on campus visits and bus trips to Toronto for such events as the CMA Connections Fair.
After graduating, Elaine quickly obtained her CMA (2005) designation while working at the LCBO. As a Financial Analyst in the Financial Planning Department, Elaine focuses primarily on developing, as well as analysing budgets for over 600 LCBO Retail Stores, Service Centres, Head Office and Warehouse Cost Centres. Once a year, she also has the opportunity to travel across Ontario to train the LCBO’s various Regional Directors on the current year’s budgeting process.

In 2005, Elaine married fellow UW alumni, Charles Lee, Macc, CPA, CA, CMA, with whom she recently launched RSVP Photos, a small business specializing in Events Photography. Elaine is also heavily involved with Toastmasters, and is often invited to speak at various Toastmasters clubs around the GTA. She is a Past- President, VP of Education, VP of Membership and is the currently the Treasurer. She has earned her Advanced Toastmasters Bronze (ATM-B) and Advanced Toastmaster Silver (ACS) speaking designations, and has won Toastmaster of the Year three times, along with numerous speaking awards at the Club, Area, and Divisional levels. In November of 2008, Elaine placed second in the District 60 Toastmasters Table Topics Competition, beating out over 6,500 people.
In her spare time, Elaine enjoys volunteering. She has been active with the United Way and Eva’s Initiatives, and regularly serves at her church as a worship leader, vocalist and pianist. She has also begun to offer freelance web design services for small businesses and non-profit organizations.

Amit Seth
Amit Seth, an SAF graduate, was recently highlighted in CA magazine for his company and business ventures. Amit became one of the youngest franchisees in Tim Hortons' history at 27, and currently owns four Tim Hortons franchises while managing or consulting for 15 other restaurants in Ontario. Amit is the Managing Director for Saisethsons Hospitality Group, a consultancy firm for the quick-service restaurant industry. Amit was honoured last year with a Top 30 Under 30 award from the Ontario Hostelry Institute and is achieving great success with his company, which is expected to generate more than $18 million in sales this year alone.
